The Good News: Starting Pitching

So, Ajitator, perhaps none of the Yankees fans in the fam are blogging cause they already know their boys can't compete with the Red Sox this year, not with our starting rotation? Just a theory...

Okay, I know that we lost today, but you certainly can't fault Wake for losing a game in which he only gave up three singles in six innings! After the performances by Beckett (2 hits in five), Matsuzaka (6 hits in 7 with 10 Ks), and Wakefield (Schilling's performance was obviously an aberration!), I can't help but think that Tavarez will earn his spot in the rotation tomorrow with a stellar performance...I just hope he gets some support from the offense.

Also, in all the excitement over Dice-K yesterday, did anybody even bother to mention that Papelbon easily picked up his first save ?!?!

Well Jane, that pinstriped flag was too much to pass up.
1. Papelbon's save was against a team whose cleanup hitter has a lifetime .262 average. He's a great closer but your excitement is a little premature.
2. Dice-K, see number 1. However I will weaken temporarily and admit the guy looked good. Gonna be a pleasure to watch.
3. Yankee pitching, they'll do just fine, they always do.
Red Sox pitching, they'll do just fine, they always do.
4. Schilling sucks. It started last year and it will continue this year.
5. A-Rod sucks. Not going to change anytime soon. Needs to go to a less intimidating team (no, not the Red Sox).
6. The Yankees' real problem is their fielding, not their pitching, but that will come together with exception of #5 above.
7. Yankees pitching will be more than adequate. Keep an eye on their new pitcher. No, I'm not talking about Pettite.
8. Love you all, hate your team.
9. There are only 4 Yankee fans left, with the exception of Ryan, who loves both teams (!)

I would like to take this opportunity to say that, as Blog coordinator, I reserve the right to delete any comments that I feel are too negative and a blatant attack on the other team. I will try to do this in the spirit of bipartisanship (but I reserve the right to show favoritism). I was concerned about your comment at first Aunt Cindy because I "heart" Papelbon, but it quickly turned into exactly what we're looking for on this blog!

PS-Adj, I am your siiisterrrr.
PSS-(cousin) Jane, that was the best I could do for a movie reference.

FaGodsakes Betsy, I am relieved that you are going to "delete any comments that I feel are too negative and a blatant attack on the other team."
That means the first one to go will be “let's not get greedy like those pin striped dough boys that throw like girls."
:)

Haha I was wondering, as I read your original comment about a-rod, how long into the season it would take for you to start liking him again. Maybe he will start being prouductive like he was today...I wouldn't be surprised. And I am sorry if I am still mad at Damon for being a loser, I am pretty sure neither the Yankees or the Red Sox fans like him anyway.

You're totally right Auntie...that would have been the first to go. But I instigated the rule post-post!

In a sidenote...I totally didn't delete that comment. I have no idea who made it, and it truely was "removed by the author."

I would just like to say thank you Aunt Cindy for mentioning me, but I am sorry to tell you that I am no longer a "Yankee Fan", It was a temporary lapse in judgement but I have regained my sanity. Although I do like certain players on the team such as Jeter, Abreau and Posada, I will most definitley be rooting for Red Sox this season as always.
